US + Canada hotels · including park gateways
Named rooms in the US and Canada. Not a UK copy, not a mystery hotel.
Book Direct is named hotel inventory for a week you can actually sleep: US and Canadian cities, plus the gateway towns that sit next to parks. We default to Booking.com’s North America program — not a UK or EU copy of that program — so the map pin and the cancellation sentence are the product. Sister hotel defaults live on Park Stay (Hotels.com) and Book the Stay (Priceline). We are not Booking.com.
A named room is a building you can find on a map, not an opaque “hotel in this area.” We default to Booking.com for US and Canadian inventory — then say when Hotels.com or Priceline is the less-wrong tab. Primary hop: /go/booking/ (currently https://www.booking.com/).

A sequence, not a slogan
01
Name the town or the neighborhood, not the vibe
Springdale is not St. George. Banff is not Canmore. Downtown Vancouver is not the airport strip. Booking.com cannot fix a 90-minute mistake you made in the search box.
02
Default to a named Booking.com rate you can undo
Building name, map pin, cancellation line. Rewards names change; the need for a named room does not. We will not print a Genius earn rate that might be true in one country and false in another.
03
Only then open Hotels.com or Priceline
Hotels.com is Park Stay’s default for park gateway hotels and often-cancellable rooms. Priceline is the discount and Express Deals path. Either can win. Neither should be the only tab if you wanted Booking.com’s North America inventory.

The product
Named hotel inventory in the US and Canada (including park gateways)
Book Direct is a hotel search with a building name. That sounds obvious until you have booked “near the park” or followed a UK program into a US stay.
The three desks
Booking.com vs Hotels.com vs Priceline for a North America stay
Three OTAs, two holding companies, three jobs. Booking.com is this lander’s default. Hotels.com is Park Stay. Priceline is Book the Stay.
Geography first
Gateway towns on the Booking.com map: what the pin actually means
The OTA will sell “near Banff” and “near Zion.” The pin is the product. Here are the town pairs that decide the week.
The rate rule
Cancellable rooms, prepaid rates, and guest programs we will not invent
A weather-sensitive week wants a cancellation sentence. A locked-in city weekend can take prepaid. Genius-style labels are a bonus, not the product.
What this site will not do
- Invent a nightly rate, a guest score, or a coupon code for a gateway town or a Canadian city.
- Pretend this is Booking.com, a Genius portal, or a “preferred partner” agency.
- Use a UK or EU affiliate copy when the trip is US or Canadian inventory.
- Impersonate Booking Holdings, Hotels.com, Priceline, or a park service.
